Any logotype you see has its own history of creation and as usual, some interesting facts are unknown. Looking at some icons it’s difficult to understand what has the designer meant and what is the idea of it.
The mermaid, which attracts coffee drinkers, which is on the Starbucks logo was made by inspiration of a classic Norse woodcut of the mythical siren in the far 15th century and still is a unchangeable symbol. The logo was redesigned for a few times, but the main character stayed, only the color was changed.
Global mobile corporation, that started work in far 1960s was called so because of the river, which flowed through the town, where the company was created, Nokianvirta. Logotype also was changing, but as a result, we see a simple name of the brand on the icon.
The logo was created, using all the font, available for a printer and was remade for so many times, that it’s difficult to count, but the main thing is that the name of the market always was shown on the icon.
